Amber Fortowsky, BSW

Amber has been a practicing social worker in Saskatoon since 2008. She has worked in the non-profit sector as well as with the Saskatchewan Health Authority in various roles. She also spent several years working in the area of Mental Health and Addictions.  

Amber has worked with clients from many different backgrounds and she strives to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Her approach is non-judgmental and empathetic. Amber has experience working with clients who are facing mental health challenges, addictions, trauma and relationship difficulties.  

Amber has training in a number of areas, including mediation, conflict resolution, communication skills, trauma-informed care and suicide risk assessment. She utilizes various modalities in her practice, including strengths-based therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and solution-focused therapy, amongst others. Amber’s objective is to meet you where you’re at so we can work towards achieving your counselling goals.  

In her off-time, Amber enjoys spending time with friends and family, and pursuing her passion of photography.
