cognitive behavioral therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy that is hands-on, goal oriented and short-term. CCS uses CBT to understand the situations that individuals may be struggling with. The counsellor and client will work together to develop and build new coping skills to apply to the client’s life. This can be completed in weekly sessions of one hour each. Depending on each person and his/her unique circumstances, it can take anywhere from a few months to a few years to develop new skills and learn how to apply those skills to your life. The purpose of CBT is to learn how to change your thinking in order to change your behaviours and feelings, so that you can navigate situations in life more effectively.
