Winter Break Recap: Enjoying Our Community

This winter break was much needed for all of us! We chose to stay close to home and take advantage of the amazing amenities Martensville has to offer.

With temperatures dropping to -30°C, we spent some cozy days indoors. One of our highlights was a visit to the library, where we picked up puzzles for the kids. We also checked out books and spent an hour building with LEGO. The next day, we returned for Dog Man-themed activities, where we created comics, learned how to draw, and even made lunch boxes and Dog Man hats. We are so lucky to have a library with such incredible staff who go above and beyond for the community!

We also stopped by the arena to try out the new turf. With affordable drop-in rates, the kids had a blast playing tag, kicking a soccer ball, and throwing a frisbee.

At home, we spent time baking cookies and muffins, filling the house with delicious smells and warm memories. As the week wrapped up, we visited Nourish for a coffee and some health products to get ready for back to school. We also stopped at Co-op for gas and groceries. Of course, no winter break would be complete without watching some hockey—both at the rink and on TV!

It’s incredible how much there is to do right in our own backyard. I hope you had a chance to explore, connect with your community, and take some well-deserved time to relax.
