Jessica Nause
B.A. (Hons) Psychology, MACP Candidate
Jessica has her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in psychology and is currently working toward her master’s degree in counselling psychology. She has over three years of experience working with groups and individuals in areas including interpersonal conflict, emotions management, addiction, and domestic violence intervention. She has developed a passion for working in the area of interpersonal relationships, whether this be with individuals or couples. With a background in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles, and an interest in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Jessica appreciates the value of evidence-based practice. She works to create a judgement-free zone for all clients of all backgrounds to feel safe, valued, and listened to. Jessica welcomes clients of all ages, including children. She brings experience of research in areas of mindfulness and self-compassion, couples, and child psychology. Jessica has a diverse set of interests in the helping profession but overall aims to provide the best care she can to help anyone she works with.
Her approach to counselling draws from strengths-based and person-centred methods with influences from CBT and ACT. Ultimately, she aims to work collaboratively with clients to find an approach that is tailored to their needs and strengths.
