Marie Hildebrandt

Marie Hildebrandt is a Registered Social Worker who joined Carter’s Counselling in September of 2025. She brings more than 18 years of experience in the fields of social work, counselling, and trauma-informed care. Marie holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina (2007) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan (2005). In May of 2026, Marie completed her Master of Social Work Degree from Dalhousie University.
Marie is a registered member of the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW) and a past member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) with a longstanding commitment to supporting individuals and families across Saskatchewan and in Ontario. She has a firm belief in compassionate and ethical support and works collaboratively with children, youth, families, couples and adults.
Marie’s professional background includes roles in school-based counselling, child welfare, sexual violence response and counselling, emotional regulation, parenting strategies, and adoption and kinship support. On a personal level, Marie brings experience as a former foster and adoptive parent with extensive knowledge of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attachment Challenges with further training in Dyadic Developmental Parenting (DDP).

Marie’s approach to counselling is rooted in solution-focused, narrative, strengths-based, feminist, and cognitive behavioural practices. When supporting children and youth, Marie
also utilizes a variety of mediums for client support including collaborative play and artistic expression. She is trained in violence threat risk assessment (VTRA), crisis response, and the Neuro-sequential Model of Education (NME). Marie is known for her warm, empathetic presence and strong relational skills. She values respectful, inclusive care that meets clients where they are, and works collaboratively to support healing, growth, and resilience.
