Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!
Over the course of the next few weeks, we’d love to share some information about the different counselling approaches used in our offices. Hopefully, this will allow our clients to have a deeper understanding of the approaches being used within sessions and create an informed therapy environment!
Narrative therapy is a psychotherapy that aims to separate the individual from the problem. This allows the individual to externalize their issues, rather than continuing to internalize them.
Narrative therapy greatly relies on the individual’s own skills and sense of self and purpose to guide them through difficult moments. One of the goals of narrative therapy is to uncover opportunities for self-growth and development, while finding meaning and understanding for ourselves.
By sharing stories and using narrative therapy, we can help you to better organize your thoughts, help find meaning, and further establish your identity in a confusing world.
